Dynamics Gp Partner Newsflash: Great Plains Licensing and Implementation
Please read this article to get oriented in Microsoft Business Solutions Dynamics GP ERP software licenses sale, implementation, data conversion, business processes oriented precise GP user training, integration with ecommerce and legacy systems, barcode, reports design (SSRS, ReportWriter, Crystal Reports, FRx, Excel, Microsoft Access), Great Plains customizations and add-ons development (Dexterity, eConnect, VBA/Modifier, SQL Stored Procedures). In this small publication we would like to describe Dynamics GP technology and its implementation methods:
1. Dynamics GP Licensing. For new GP customers you can get Business Ready licenses of two levels: Business Essentials (for mid-size and smaller businesses or companies, requiring standard ERP and MRP functionality) and Advanced Management (for larger organizations or companies, requiring richer functionality). The format of this publication doesn’t allow full modules listing, but to give you the idea – if you need Manufacturing, Field, Service or Human Resource Management modules functionality – you should review presentations and consider purchasing Dynamics GP Business Ready Advanced Management set
2. Great Plains Installation, Data Conversion, Initial User Training and switch over to production mode. If you are on small business or legacy ERP or Accounting system: QuickBooks, MAS 90, Peach Tree, Accpac, Oracle Financials, Sage, Great Plains Accounting for DOS or Windows, JD Edwards, People Soft, and if you are upgrading or moving away to Microsoft Dynamics GP Great Plains, we would like to recommend directions. In you are on Quick Books, there is migration tool available, it should migrate your chart of accounts, customers, vendors, AR and AP invoices Sales and Purchasing transactions. The same is true if you are on GPA for DOS (where migration tool is proven over the years and is doing almost all the objects transfer). For the rest of you, we recommend to export existing chart of accounts, customers, vendors, and period beginning balances, import these objects to Great Plains Dynamics GP and by doing this start new year or new fiscal period (month for example). We do not really recommend you to consider historical data migration, until it is absolutely necessary – instead you could keep your legacy ERP system available for inquiry and reporting purposes only
1. Great Plains Customization. If your business is very traditional and could be characterized within established industry, then we do not recommend you to undergo custom Great Plains programming – instead try to setup existing GP modules to do the job. However we expect that large number of mid-size and small businesses are unique and require Great Plains Dexterity Add-ons programming, or legacy Dex customization upgrade and recovery
